Solar Panel Installation in Hereford

About Us

Your Local Solar And Electrical Team

We started out as an electrical contractor around seven years ago and have been fitting solar full time for the last three. Today we look after roughly seventy systems across Herefordshire and over the border into Wales, from a single domestic roof to a 400 panel array on a working dairy farm.

We are based four miles from the Welsh border, so both sides of it are local to us. It also means we are not a call centre with a sales team. You get the electrician who priced the job, on site, doing the work.

Every site survey and every quote is free, with no obligation. If solar is not right for your property, we will tell you that instead of selling you a system.

What We Do

Our Services

Solar and battery work is what we are pushing, but we are electricians first, and that is still what sits behind every install.

Common Questions

FAQ

Pitch, direction and shading matter more than anything else. South facing is ideal, but east and west roofs work well too, and a flat roof can take a mounting frame. We look at all of it on the survey, along with your consumer unit and where a battery could sit. If your roof is not worth doing, we will say so rather than sell you a system.

Yes. Every survey and every quote is free, with no obligation and no pressure selling. If you take our quote and go elsewhere with it, that is your call. Most of our work is close to home, so coming out to look at a job properly costs us very little.

Panels on their own only save you money while the sun is up. A battery stores what you do not use during the day so you can run the house on it in the evening, which is when most households pull the most power. Whether it stacks up depends on how much electricity you use and when you use it, and that is one of the things we work through on the survey.

Yes. We service, monitor and fault find systems we did not fit, as well as our own. That covers annual health checks, inverter and battery inspection, performance testing, and tracking down why a system has stopped generating what it used to.

Every system we fit comes with monitoring you can see on your phone. We can also watch it from our end, so if output drops or the inverter throws a fault it gets picked up instead of sitting there quietly costing you money.

SigEnergy is what we fit most at the moment, and we also work with Solax and Solis. We will tell you exactly which panels, inverter and battery are going on your property and why we picked them, and you can see the specification for yourself before you commit.

For most homes solar panels count as permitted development, so no application is needed. It is different if the property is listed, sits in a conservation area or a national park, or if the panels would stand well proud of the roof slope. We check this before we quote so there are no surprises later.

It is the scheme that pays you for electricity you send back to the grid instead of using yourself. Larger energy suppliers have to offer a tariff and the rates vary between them, so it is worth comparing once your system is running. We will point you at what you need to register.
