Worcester is the outer eastern edge of our patch and the largest place on it. It is a city rather than a market town, and that changes the mix of work more than the distance does.
The domestic side is broad. Victorian terraces through the older parts of the city, large post war and modern estates around them, and villages turning into commuter housing on the way out. Modern estate roofs are the easiest solar work there is: simple pitches, concrete tile, decent orientation and a garage or utility for the battery. Older terraces need more thought, usually because there is one usable slope and not much loft to play with.
The part of Worcester that interests us most is the commercial and industrial stock. Trading estates, warehousing and light industrial units have exactly what solar wants: large shallow pitch or flat roofs, three phase supplies, and heavy electrical demand during daylight hours when the system is generating. That is where a system pays for itself fastest, and industrial electrical work is where this business started, so the switchgear and supply side is our own trade rather than something we subcontract out.
